Who We Are
Mexican Paver Restoration and Refinishing is a Family owned and Operated business that has been providing services in California for over 23 years.
The Mission of Mexican Paver Restoration and Refinishing is to restore and bring existing paver floors back to as new as possible.
California Tile Re-Finishers
We have over 23 years of hands-on experience in refinishing, restoring and installations working with Saltillo pavers, Tecate pavers, Lincoln pavers, slate, flagstone, marble polishing, brick, and ceramic tile, involving residential remodels, business remodels, and new construction. Although pavers are our specialty, we’re excellent at polishing marble, detailing bathrooms back to brand new, cleaning ceramic tile and grout, and much more.
We pay attention to detail:
We offer cost-effective, easy to implement solutions for cleaning, repairing, and maintaining tile, grout, stone, marble, and brick in all areas of your home, office entryway, or backyard.
Our goal is to show people how they, with the help of restoration and refinishing, can bring all areas of their home or business back to showroom quality when the right and proper products are used.
We do all our work on hands and knees so that we can give you the best quality work, paying attention to detail, edges, under cabinets, in closets, behind toilets, all the areas where machines can’t reach, and most important of all, the ever so hard to clean grout joints.
Our Many Years of Experience is Golden:
Due to our many, many years of experience in the industry we have a unique ability to solve problems. In my 23 years of experience, I have taken on the challenges of over a thousand paver jobs of all types such as Saltillo pavers, Tecate pavers, and Lincoln pavers which are the most common. I have done so many paver jobs, there is not any challenges left. I have come across all of them already and eliminated any sudden surprises. I can tell you how the job will go from start to finish.
Don’t settle for second rate work
We want customers to understand that they don’t have to accept second-rate work by companies with not enough experience or qualifications to successfully getting the job done right. We look forward to doing business with you!

Paver Facts
- Â Saltillos are clay tiles
- Yes, they can be stained any color
- They get the color and shape from the drying process when being manufactured
- They need to be pre-sealed (penetrating sealer, color enhancing sealer, and glossy sealer).
- Â Some pavers come with paw prints
- They do have some small cracks and chips and other imperfections
- Yes, there are regular saltillos and super saltillos as well
- Pavers outside will age and change as a result of ever-changing climate conditions the weather ultraviolet lights from the sun and freeze-thaw conditions
- Efflorescence is a chemical reaction to moisture during the installation process and when pavers get saturated with water. White powdery salt crystals begin to form on the surface
-  It is a fact that saltillo pavers have lime in them during the manufacturing process, they add bags of lime to the clay, and it doesn’t blend into the clay mixture, leaving little clumps that rise to the surface of the saltillo paver while it’s being made
- When they are installed the water from the thin-set activates them and makes them pop, and as time goes on and you do natural living on the floor a few lime pops will begin to show. We see lime pops on 90% of the paver jobs we have done. Normally, we just fill it with the existing grout color
Protecting Your Paver Floors
- A good way to protect your floors no matter what kind of surface you have ceramic tile, paver, slate, marble, wood, linoleum whatever it is. You want to place magic sliders or felt pads underneath all table legs, chair legs, and couch legs, etc.
-  If you have large rugs or runners you need to be very careful of the rubber mat on the floor because they will have a tendency to adhere to the finish, I’m not sure why the acids in the rubber and the acrylic in sealer, have a reaction. Once moisture gets in the mix the cloth mattes don’t do as much damage to the paver finish, but they don’t work as well as the rubber mats. So be careful in your decision.
- If you have house plants, it’s a great idea to keep them elevated with a water catch tray. This will keep the moisture off the floor and let the moisture dry out, this is really important on the exterior pavers, because of the constant watering, sprinklers, rain , water puddles under the plants and that when the damage occurs especially if this goes on for long term. You also want to keep dog and cat bowls elevated as well.
- Vacuums choose them wisely because the plastic or metal wheels have a tendency to scratch the finish of the paver. Also, they all don’t get the grout joints really well. The vacuums with the long hose and soft head brush are the best ones for the job, that’s what I personally use when I vacuum a paver floor.
- Last of all don’t over-clean your pavers with overly strong chemicals and abrasive scouring pads, follow the detailed instructions I give you on how to clean your floors and the proper cleaning products to use and they will stay looking perfect.
